Andy Dillard
Head Coach, 2023 Tallahatchie Rascals
Andy Dillard, a native of Saltillo, is set to lead the Tallahatchie Rascals in the 2020 Cotton States Baseball League. Dillard, who formerly coached in the high school ranks in the state, is a former independent league third baseman who won NCAA Division II All-American honors in 2002 for Coach Mike Kinnison's Delta State Statesmen. Dillard prepped at Saltillo High School and continued his baseball career at Itawamba Community College before joining the Statesmen.
Dillard played for the independent league Nashua Pride in 2006 and 2007. With the Pride in 2006, he hit .283/.375/.398 in 78 games. Andy is the brother of major leaguer Milwaukee Brewer Tim Dillard and former independent leaguer Jeff Dillard.
Also of note: Andy's father, Steve Dillard, was an 8-year major-leaguer himself with the Tigers, Cubs and White Sox.
