Cotton States Baseball League –
Summer Collegiate Baseball

Founded in 2009, the Cotton States Baseball League – North Division is a pro-style, 10 team collegiate wooden bat league for players with college eligibility.

The CSBL – North operates at a single site located conveniently off of I-22 in New Albany, MS on the renovated Legion Field at the BNA Bank Park. Players typically come from a 150 mile radius which includes Ole Miss, MSU, Delta State, Memphis, Arkansas State, Tennessee Tech, Jackson State, Blue Mountain College, and a number of area junior colleges. Players that do not live within that radius are invited to apply if they have the means to arrange for housing, have relatives living in the area, etc.

The CBSL-North plays a 20-22 game schedule in June and July culminating with a League Championship Series (LCS) in late July. Games are typically played on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday evenings dependent upon the weather. Because of the generous support of our sponsors, the cost has remained at a reasonable price: $600 for position players and $450 for pitchers only. Each player receives two team jerseys and a team cap/belt/socks and the league will promote its players and activities to NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA and professional scouts, coaches, and recruiters. The CSBL will abide by all eligibility requirements.

Endorsed by baseball legends Donnie Kessinger and John Cohen, the league employs each of the coaching staffs, recruiting managers with collegiate and professional connections. Past coaches include Curt Fowler who is currently serving as the head coach of Blue Mountain College, John Walker and Doug Robbins who both served at Delta State University, Chris Basil who played at Ole Miss, and Shawn Hairald and Chip Wade, professional scouts, among others.

The league also features a collegiate level website complete with individual statistics, standings, schedules and player information. The CSBL Game of the Week has been featured on local radio stations as well as streamed live over the internet for the various fans across the region and in other states. The league also posts notices via Twitter (@cottonstates) and photographs on Facebook.

As a showcase league for players and others, a number of individuals have taken the opportunity to perform the National Anthem and/or have thrown out the ceremonial first pitch, including Congressman Alan Nunnelee, Paid in Full, KC Johns, and Jordyn Mallory.
