Jet Butler Becomes First Cotton States MLB Draft Pick

Mississippi State University’s Jet Butler became the first BNA Bank Cotton States League MLB draft pick when he was selected in the 26th round yesterday by the New York Mets.
 
Butler, a shortstop from Pensacola, Florida, played for Coach Chris Basil and the Tallahatchie Rascals in the inaugural 2009 CSBL season and was named to the All Cotton States League Team. Butler hit .329 in 49 games for Coach John Cohen’s Bulldogs this season in Starkville.
