Thunder Gets Even With 5-1 Win Over Jets
The
Tupelo Thunder used a 4-run 5
th inning Saturday night to break open a 1-1 game with the
GT Jets (2-4) and run their record to 3-3. RBI hits from
Jake Sloan,
Gardner Richey,
Trey Spencer and
Ladarrius Cole followed a leadoff double from
Dustin Lunn to make the frame the big one for the Thunder. Tupelo starter
Mat Cox worked 7 innings of one-hit ball to grab the win. Cole, Lunn, Spencer and
Matt Lewis each had 2 hits for the Thunder. Jets starter
Hunter Richardson suffered the loss for the GT squad.
Evan Weibel was 3 for 4 and
Hunter Bolden picked up a pair of hits to pace the GT offense.
The Thunder is next in action on Tuesday night with a 6:00 pm double-header with the North Delta Dealers while the Jets take on the Tallahatchie Rascals in a Jets home twin bill tonight in New Albany, also at 6:00 p.m.
