The first BNA Bank Cotton States Baseball League Players of the Week have been named.  The McAlister’s Deli Player of the Week is Colby Maxwell, an infielder with the Tallahatchie Rascals. Maxwell, a Lipscomb University signee from Collierville, TN, hit .455 on the week, pacing the Tallahatchie Rascals in their 4-0 start. Maxwell was 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored in Monday’s 6-3 win over the North Delta Dealers. He has 2 RBI and a .500 on-base percentage.

 

The McAlister’s Deli Pitcher of the Week is Jon Andy Scott, also with the Rascals. Scott picked up his second win of the season last night in the Rascals 6-3 victory over North Delta. Scott, an Ole Miss signee from Northeast Mississippi CC, notched the first ever BNA CSBL win on opening night when he worked 6 innings against the Tupelo Thunder. Scott has a 2.45 ERA and has struck out 11 in 11 innings of work.

 

Each player will receive a McAlister’s Deli gift certificate along with acknowledgement of their award at their team’s next game.
